Kennesaw State University has agreed to pay the former chairman of its Department of Educational Leadership $148,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by the professor for what he claimed was his retaliatory firing in violation of Georgia’s Whistleblowers Act. According to the settlement agreement, $48,000 will go toward attorney fees and costs.
“I thought it was a great case to take to trial,” said Michael E. Kramer of Atlanta’s Clements & Sweet, “but Roy had retired to Alaska, and he just wanted closure; a court fight would have lasted two or three more years.”
