When Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, sits down to read the Palm Beach Daily News at the family’s Mar-a-Lago club, two things needn’t worry her: ink-stained fingers and the health of her local newspaper.

The Florida newspaper, called the “Shiny Sheet” because of its bright white, smudge-free paper, is the only one of four area publications owned by Cox Enterprises Inc. to escape recent job cuts. The Palm Beach Post and two sister papers plan to trim 300 of their 1,350 positions this month.
