LAS VEGAS AP – A lawyer for a Nevada patent holder who won more than $388 million in a decade-old lawsuit against California state tax authorities said Monday that he expected the verdict will be appealed.
“This phase of the case is over,” said Mark Hutchison, lawyer for inventor, scientist and engineer Gilbert Hyatt. “I’d be shocked if this is the end, based on how hard the California Franchise Tax Board has fought every step of the way for 10 years.”
