Those waiting for the final showdown in the battle over Georgia’s limits on pain and suffering damages will have to wait a little while longer.

The Supreme Court of Georgia had been scheduled to hear arguments Monday over a legal challenge to caps on noneconomic damages. But the case abruptly settled for an undisclosed amount, and the Supreme Court granted the defendants’ motion to withdraw their appeal Thursday.
