A recent decision by the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals likely will make it easier for agricultural companies to arrange housing for their migrant pickers-without worrying about the condition of the facilities in which those workers will live.

The Aug. 8 decision involves Florida-based Ag-Mart Produce Inc., which produces grape tomatoes marketed under the name “Santa Sweets.” But it could help farms across Georgia, Florida and Alabama that put up migrant workers in motels or apartments.
