A gun rights group failed to convince a federal judge Monday afternoon that Georgians with gun licenses should be allowed to carry firearms in non-secure areas of the world’s busiest airport.
GeorgiaCarry.org had sought an injunction that would stop the city from enforcing regulations banning firearms at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. A new state law allows licensed gun owners to carry weapons in many public venues, including MARTA stations and trains, and its proponents say it also applies to the airport.
