There was the stalwart small town Midwesterner, the Southern cracker sometimes friendly, sometimes not, the ethnic guy from Brooklyn or the Bronx Jewish, Italian, maybe Polish, the Negro by the late ’50s and the Natural Leader, usually from some nonspecific town in New England or the mid-Atlantic States.
