The path to merger appears a little rockier for Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner after the departure of another one of its name partners.
Last week, Richard Raysman left for New York’s Otterbourg, Steindler, Houston & Rosen, a New York institutional finance boutique. His exit comes four months after Peter Brown, another name partner, jumped to Baker & Hostetler in New York. The firm also confirmed last week that Richard Farmer, a partner in the project finance practice in New York, is departing, though they wouldn’t say where he was going. Thelen says that losing Farmer won’t have a material effect on revenues, but two former partners put the value of Farmer’s practice alone at as much as $10 million. Farmer did not respond to calls and e-mails seeking comment.
