Georgia Power Co. and the state Public Service Commission joined forces this week before the Supreme Court of Georgia, arguing that the PSC cannot be forced to assume oversight over the location of the utility’s power substations.
The appeals by Georgia Power and Georgia Attorney General Thurbert E. Baker, whose staff represents the Public Service Commission, asked the Supreme Court to reverse a lower court finding that the PSC has the responsibility to oversee where Georgia Power locates its power stations.
