At first glance, the Georgia Court of Appeals candidacy of Sara L. Doyle might appear to be a product of the state’s Republican establishment.

The 40-year-old Holland & Knight partner began her career working at the same firm as Frank B. Strickland, a former general counsel to the Georgia Republican Party who is an honorary chairman of Doyle’s campaign, and Anne W. Lewis, chief deputy general counsel to the state GOP and the chairwoman of Doyle’s campaign. Holland & Knight partner Robert S. Highsmith Jr., the lead outside counsel to Gov. Sonny Perdue’s political action committee, also has endorsed Doyle.
