U.S. public companies are increasingly responding to shareholder pressure to adopt good corporate governance practices, according to Shearman & Sterling’s sixth annual Corporate Governance Survey.

For the second year, the New York-based firm’s governance survey also includes an analysis of director and executive compensation. Survey findings are based on an analysis of the proxy statements of the 100 largest U.S. companies.
