In concept, the idea of Piedmont Hospital expanding to a higher-profile location along Interstate 75 seemed like a no-brainer. But when it came time to make the idea a reality, executing the transaction was a little more difficult.
This month, Piedmont Healthcare Inc. is in the process of opening a $71 million, 255,000-square-foot building at the Howell Mill Road exit off I-75. Developed by Carter Real Estate, Piedmont West will house offices to provide medical services for cancer, radiology and other specialties. Piedmont West also includes retail space and a parking deck and may include a hotel.
