Michael J. Kline, senior litigation counsel for intellectual property at The Coca-Cola Co., has written a history book that reads like a novel and turns out to be surprisingly relevant at the moment.

In November, just as President-elect Barack Obama began building his White House staff and cabinet by taking a page from a much admired book by Doris Kearns Goodwin, “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” Kline’s book about Lincoln was published.
