Outgoing Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears of the Supreme Court of Georgia on Monday withdrew her name from consideration for the University of Maryland School of Law’s search for a new dean, according to court public information officer Jane Hansen.

“She wants to pursue other opportunities right now,” said Hansen. Sears announced last year that she would leave the court when her term as chief justice ends June 30.
