Would-be federal district court judges and top federal prosecutor hopefuls in Georgia have been given official instructions: Send your resumes to former Congressman George W. “Buddy” Darden, and do it quickly.

The office of U.S. Rep. Sanford D. Bishop Jr. announced Thursday the names of 12 people, 11 of whom are lawyers, who will advise the state’s House Democrats on who should fill four open district court judge positions, as well as U.S. attorney and U.S. marshal positions in all three of Georgia’s federal court districts. According to Thursday’s press release, the state’s Democratic congressional delegation will make recommendations on the openings to President Barack Obama per his request.
