Kidd & Vaughan, the litigation firm founded by Charles M. Kidd in 1971, has become Holland Schaeffer Roddenbery Blitch. The seven-lawyer firm handles commercial and civil litigation, as well as mediation.

The retirement of Woodrow W. Vaughan Jr., a civil defense litigator and avid basketball player, prompted the name change in January, said David N. Schaeffer, one of the firm’s four partners. Kidd died of cancer in 1994.
