Attorney General Thurbert E. Baker’s decision to run makes the field to replace term-limited Gov. Sonny Perdue more crowded and could invite a throng of contenders to head the state Law Department.

Baker is the second Democrat to enter the race, along with Adjutant General David B. Poythress. Four Republicans have said they’ll run-Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Secretary of State Karen Handel, Insurance Commissioner John W. Oxendine and Rep. Austin Scott of Tifton.
