Aided by controversy about whether Georgia should challenge the national health care law, state attorney general candidates have amassed a combined total of more than $1.53 million for their campaigns, according to disclosure reports filed with the State Ethics Commission last week.

The two Democrats and two Republicans are vying to replace Attorney General Thurbert E. Baker, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor.
