The DeKalb County Superior Court is working to put the vast majority of its civil and criminal case files online, making them available to anyone with an Internet connection-for a fee that is being debated.

A new state law raised fees across a wide range of government services and may require the clerk’s office to charge $2.50 per page for online access to case files. But that price would discourage public use of the online service and, therefore, make less money for the county, said Debra DeBerry, chief deputy clerk of the DeKalb County Superior Court.
