It’s a bluebird Friday afternoon in Columbus, and golf instructor and coach Mark Immelman is working the grounds at his teaching facility on the backside of the driving range at Bull Creek Golf Course.

Sporting a V-neck sweater, pressed slacks, shades and a Nike ball cap, the 37-year-old Immelman is the men’s golf coach at Columbus State University. His players are spread out on the driving range hitting balls, and Immelman makes his way down the line, watching swings and offering the occasional tip. The Division II team is currently ranked No. 3 in the country and has high hopes for a national championship in May.
