A funny thing happened on the way to cramming in my 2008 CLE credits by today’s deadline: I had a rip-roaring good time.

Now, it may strike you that “rip-roaring good time” and “continuing legal education” are not phrases that generally hold hands as they skip into the big granite building on Marietta Street. As a member of the State Bar since 1994, I’ve attended my fair share of CLEs, and based on my personal observations-which, over the years, have involved counting the retreating backs of as many as 30 percent of CLE attendees as they slink out before the seminar is over-unless you’ve managed to book yourself on one of those CLE-at-Sea cruises or sneak a bottle of Jack Daniels into the Bar Center, your CLE experience just isn’t that much fun.
