Carl Sanders was inspired to become a lawyer after he served for three years as a B-17 bomber pilot in World War II. He had discovered it was the lawyers who made decisions and got things done.

“When I was discharged I realized that the people who made the major decisions about whether we go to war, whether we don’t go to war, or whether we do other things-most of them were lawyers. Having come to the conclusion that lawyers were very active in the affairs of government and the affairs of everyday lives, I decided that I would like to be a lawyer.”
