Author Bob Thomas, 67, has written five golf-themed books, including biographies on golf greats Ben Hogan and Bobby Jones.
A resident of Black Mountain, N.C., Thomas has sold more than 150,000 books worldwide, mostly through his self-publishing company, Bob Thomas Books Inc. Shunning the traditional method of publishing and marketing books, Thomas peddles most of his product directly to golf resorts and private clubs, which either sell the books to its members or give them away as gifts.
