Lawyers seeking employment must have a Web presence, said speakers at a luncheon seminar for unemployed lawyers last week hosted by the State Bar of Georgia-but their ideas varied on the utility of social media for finding a job and developing clients.

Lawyer and social media enthusiast David A. Barrett, who spoke remotely from Boston, advocated spreading one’s name far and wide on the World Wide Web. He was followed by two local experts on marketing and public relations for lawyers, Jennifer M. Davis and David E. Poston, who offered tips for developing contacts within one’s local community.
