Representatives from up and down Georgia’s judiciary are set to meet this afternoon to talk about litigation, presumably against Gov. Sonny Perdue, concerning the governor’s order to cut state allocations throughout the government by 25 percent for the month of June.
The meeting of the state Judicial Council, scheduled for 1 p.m. at the State Bar of Georgia, will be closed to the public, said Jane Hansen, a spokeswoman for Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears, who chairs the Judicial Council. “The reason is that possible litigation could be discussed,” Hansen said in an e-mail to the news media, adding that Sears will make a statement following the meeting.
