Less than three hours after Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears said the Georgia judiciary wants to cooperate with Gov. Sonny Perdue over his cutting 25 percent of its June budget, the state’s trial judges started exploring ways to sue him.

On Tuesday, the executive committee of the Council of Superior Court Judges voted unanimously to ask Sears to schedule an emergency meeting of the state Judicial Council to consider suing the governor.
