Pledging to cooperate with Gov. Sonny Perdue, Carol W. Hunstein was sworn in Wednesday morning as chief justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia, the second woman to serve in the position.

Described by attorney Linda A. Klein, who introduced her, as a woman of “impeccable character, judgment and humility,” Hunstein told an overflow crowd in the Supreme Court’s courtroom in the state justice building, “I hope Perdue and I will have an opportunity to work together.”
