When I get a hate-on about a particular director or star, it typically takes a lot to persuade me otherwise.
Take Richard Gere, for example. He made movies for decades before I turned a corner and didn’t sneer at him on sight, thanks to his excellent work in “Internal Affairs,” “Pretty Woman” and “Primal Fear.”
