BIRMINGHAM, Ala. AP – Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman and HealthSouth Corp. founder Richard Scrushy have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn their federal bribery convictions, claiming it wasn’t illegal for Siegelman to name Scrushy to a powerful state board after getting political campaign funds from Scrushy.

Attorneys for both men said Wednesday that appeals were filed this week with the court.
