IN THE POKER game of associate salaries, Jones Day, King & Spalding and Alston & Bird have called Troutman Sanders’ bet of $125,000 for rookie lawyers-and raised.

Jones Day on Tuesday said it will raise first-year salaries in Atlanta to $135,000, effective Jan. 1. Salaries in more senior classes will also increase, but on an individual basis, said the firm’s Atlanta administrative partner, David M. Monde.
