ATLANTA AP _ Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker on Thursday called the 10-year mandatory sentence Genarlow Wilson is serving for consensual oral sex with a fellow teenager “harsh.”
But Baker said he is appealing the ruling because the law demands it. A state judge’s order earlier this week to release Wilson was flawed and could open the floodgates for more than 1,300 Georgia child molesters looking for a way out of prison, he said.
