MIAMI AP – A key piece of evidence in the case against alleged terrorism operative Jose Padilla was brought to the CIA in Afghanistan by a man who said he found the document in an al-Qaida safe house, according to new court filings.

The Afghan man, unknown to the CIA at the time, simply drove up to the agency’s installation in Kandahar in an extended-cab pickup truck containing ”stacks of papers and other office materials” found in the house occupied by a group of Arabs, according to a CIA document filed in federal court.
