REPUBLICAN LEADERS of the state House this week backed off an attempt to allow graduates of unaccredited law schools take the State Bar exam.

Supporters attempted to attach their proposal to Senate Bill 237, which was related to rules for licensing architects. After several lawmakers, including Reps. Wendell Willard, R-Atlanta, and Mary Margaret Oliver, D-Decatur, spoke against the amendment, it was removed from SB 237.
