PUNDITS, POLLSTERS AND public relations practitioners who advocate for issues on behalf of a client must register as lobbyists with the state government, according to an official opinion issued last week.
Anyone who works in the field of public affairs for compensation, or spends at least $250, to influence legislation should register as a lobbyist, according to a July 26 State Ethics Commission advisory opinion.
