GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. AP – Pentair Inc., maker of sump pumps and pool equipment, said Friday a jury ruled its subsidiary Essef Corp. must pay Celebrity Cruise Lines Inc. $15.2 million as part of a case involving an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease on a cruise ship in 1994.

Essef was sued by Celebrity Cruise lines, a unit of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which claimed several passengers on the Horizon cruise ship got the disease because of a defective water filter in a whirlpool spa that failed to stop the spread of bacteria.
