AFTER SPENDING seven years as a juvenile court judge in central Georgia, Tom Rawlings is about to take on what a former DeKalb County district attorney says is the most difficult job in the state-leading the Office of the Child Advocate.
“It’s a challenge to maintain your independence and stay out of politics but at the same time be watchdog and point out mistakes,” said Balch & Bingham partner J. Tom Morgan, who helped write the law creating the Office of the Child Advocate and who serves on the board of Prevent Child Abuse Georgia.
