IT’S TWO WEEKS after the Tour Championship, and attorney Carol R. Naughton is showing another visitor around the grounds of the East Lake neighborhood in Southeast Atlanta.
Naughton said she has given “thousands” of tours to developers, educators, politicians, business leaders and other people since becoming executive director of the East Lake Community Foundation in 2001. The foundation is the primary benefactor of the PGA Tour event, which was held at East Lake Golf Club in September and won by Tiger Woods. The nonprofit organization will receive more than $1 million, or 25 percent of its operating budget, from the tour this year.
