MIAMI AP – Jury selection began Tuesday in the trial of seven men accused of being in the early stages of plotting to destroy Chicago’s Sears Tower and bomb FBI offices around the country in hopes of inciting a broad anti-government insurrection.
U.S. District Judge Joan Lenard said it could take up to two weeks to seat a 12-person jury plus six alternates for a trial that could take three months. The laborious task began Tuesday with an initial group of 34 prospective jurors, who are being kept anonymous under court order.
