SPRINT NEXTEL CORP. Chief Executive Officer Gary Forsee may be losing support as the phone company’s turnaround stalls and investor frustration mounts.

Forsee, who spent two years trying to make the $36 billion purchase of Nextel Communications Inc. work, failed to overcome competition from Verizon Wireless and AT&T Inc., and ad campaigns meant to give the company a fresh shot haven’t resonated with customers, shareholders said. The Wall Street Journal reported that the board may replace Forsee by early December.
