Earlier this year, Cary Ichter and I debated the executive compensation in this space Market, not taxes, should dictate pay, Feb. 19. Mr. Ichter, an attorney with Thompson Hine, advocated that the market-not taxes-be allowed to dictate pay. He appeared to be unaware that there is a considerable groundswell of opinion to the effect that indeed many, though by no means all, senior business executives, professional athletes, actors, rock stars and rappers are excessively paid.
