CAPITALIZING ON the increased interest in nuclear power, Troutman Sanders partner John T.W. Mercer assisted client Wisconsin Energy Corp. in nabbing top dollar for a nuclear plant in the utility’s home state.
On Oct. 1 Wisconsin Energy closed on the sale of its Point Beach nuclear plant to FPL Group Inc. of Juno Beach, Fla. for about $924 million. Mercer and a team of Troutman attorneys were co-lead counsel on the transaction with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom partner Susan S. Hassan in Chicago.
