Powell Goldstein partner Louis C. Spelios was lead counsel to the world’s largest carpet maker, Shaw Industries Group Inc., on its agreement to purchase a South Carolina maker of hardwood floors.

Shaw Industries last month said it will acquire the Anderson Family of Companies, which makes hardwood floors under the brand names Appalachian, Virginia Vintage and Biltmore Estate. Terms weren’t disclosed, and Spelios declined to comment on the details of the deal.
