HARRISBURG, Pa. AP – The Supreme Court has asked the state attorney general’s office whether a county grand jury has the authority to investigate licensing matters under the state’s slot-machine law.

The request, made Monday, relates to a Dauphin County grand jury inquiry that is looking at a wealthy northeastern Pennsylvania businessman, Louis A. DeNaples. DeNaples is the sole owner of Mount Airy Casino Resort, which opened in the Pocono Mountains on Monday.
