The chief judge of U.S. District Court in Atlanta said Thursday that a U.S. House committee’s passage of a bill that would raise federal judges’ salaries was “very good news.”

“Like most things that pass in Congress there were certain compromises,” said Chief Judge Jack T. Camp. “Everybody was very pleased about it and feels like it was appropriate and long overdue.”
