The Supreme Court of Georgia made clear Monday that employers can be sued for slander even if the disputed talk stays within the office.
A Fulton County judge previously had dismissed the claims of a man who alleges officers of Amerisave Mortgage Corp. added insult to injury by falsely telling others at the company that he was fired for stealing. The state Court of Appeals had upheld the ruling, but the Supreme Court reversed Monday.
