Powell Goldstein has jumped into the heated Charlotte, N.C., legal market, opening a six-lawyer office focusing on structured finance work with attorneys raided from two established firms in the city.

The new office piggybacks on the commercial mortgage-backed securities CMBS servicing work that PoGo gained with the Dallas office it opened in 2006 and further expands the firm’s territory beyond its traditional Atlanta and Washington bases.
