Normally a trusts-and-estates attorney, Jones Day of counsel Ralph R. Morrison recently found himself in an unusual situation.

The city of Atlanta is buying property in a block-wide corridor that stretches about a mile between Oakland Cemetery and the State Capitol. The city, along with the Atlanta Development Authority, is trying to realize the goal, set in 1974 under then-Gov. Jimmy Carter, of creating a linear park between two of Atlanta’s most historic sites.
