The afternoon of March 10, a third-floor conference room at the state Capitol was packed. Six attorneys-lawmakers, judges, a lobbyist and State Bar of Georgia President Gerald M. Edenfield-took turns urging a special legislative committee to give judges a raise.
But when the committee turned to a proposal to increase pay for prosecutors, the room emptied, leaving Henry County District Attorney Tommy K. Floyd to make his sales pitch virtually alone.
