Legislation was introduced Wednesday on behalf of Gov. Sonny Perdue to restrict how and when lawsuits can be filed in Georgia courts.

Senate Bill 101 would grant new protections from product-liability suits to Georgia companies whose products have Food and Drug Administration approval. The other bill, SB 108, would enact a loser-pays requirement to discourage frivolous lawsuits.
