Hell’s-a-poppin’ out all over in “Hellboy II: The Golden Army.”

Guillermo del Toro’s enthusiastic follow-up to 2004′s “Hellboy” sets itself apart from the summer’s other superhero movies by the simple fact that, in between “Hellboys,” del Toro directed an intriguing little film called “Pan’s Labyrinth,” which won three Oscars and was a close runner-up for best foreign language film.
